About Us
The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Prince Edward Island serves the public by regulating all physicians practicing in PEI in accordance with the Regulated Health Professions Act(link) and its Regulations(link).
All physicians in PEI must be registered by the College in order to practice medicine in the province.
The duties of the College include:
- Registering qualified and competent physicians to practise medicine
- Investigating and resolving physician-related complaints on behalf of the public
- Monitoring and maintaining standards of practice through peer assessment
- Developing policies and guidelines to support high standards of medical practice and ethical conduct
